Andaman in 5 Nights 6 Days: Port Blair, Havelock and Neil
A 5 nights 6 days Andaman itinerary: Port Blair, Havelock and Neil day by day, with ferry timing, beach and snorkelling plans and what to leave out.

Five nights is the most popular length for an Andaman trip, and it is easy to see why. It covers the three main bases at a relaxed pace, with time on the beach in between.
This plan uses Port Blair, Havelock and Neil Island, and builds in a buffer for ferries.

Radhanagar Beach at golden hour.
Day | Night | What you do |
|---|---|---|
1 | Port Blair | Arrive, Cellular Jail and the light and sound show |
2 | Havelock | Morning ferry, Radhanagar Beach at sunset |
3 | Havelock | Elephant Beach snorkelling, a free evening |
4 | Havelock | Kalapathar at sunrise, kayaking or a dive |
5 | Neil | Morning ferry, Bharatpur and Laxmanpur |
6 | Departure | Ferry to Port Blair, flight out |
Day 1: Port Blair
Land, check in and visit the Cellular Jail in the afternoon. Stay for the light and sound show. See the Cellular Jail show guide.
Day 2: to Havelock
Take a morning ferry, and settle in. In the late afternoon, go to Radhanagar for the sunset. See the Radhanagar guide.
Day 3: Havelock on the water
Spend the day at Elephant Beach for snorkelling and a boat ride, then rest in the evening. See the Elephant Beach guide.
Day 4: a slower Havelock day
Start at Kalapathar for sunrise, then choose a gentle activity: kayaking through the mangroves or a short dive. See the Kalapathar guide, the kayaking guide and the first scuba dive guide.
Day 5: to Neil
Take the morning ferry to Neil. Swim and snorkel at Bharatpur, then watch the sunset at Laxmanpur. See the Bharatpur guide and the Laxmanpur guide.
Day 6: back to Port Blair
Take the morning ferry back and fly out in the afternoon. Book a flight after 1 pm to keep a safe buffer.
Why this split works
Three nights on Havelock gives the best beaches the most time. One night each in Port Blair and Neil keeps the ferries manageable. See the stay guide for where to sleep.
What it leaves out
Baratang: a full day. See the Baratang guide.
Jolly Buoy: a day trip from Port Blair. See the marine park guide.
Ross Island: a half-day, if you arrive early.

Weather can cancel ferries, so keep your last ferry and your flight apart. See our ferry guide.
