First, 3 nights in Port Blair
Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Bay Island, Port Blair
Welcomhotel Bay Island is a Charles Correa-designed 5-star hotel on Marine Hill, Port Blair, with harbour views, a spa, and two dining venues.
About This Journey
Five nights that lead with the Andamans' history before its beaches. Port Blair's Cellular Jail and its evening Light and Sound Show open the trip, followed by Ross Island, once the British administrative headquarters, now colonial ruins reclaimed by forest and resident deer. Baratang Island follows, for mud volcanoes and limestone caves reached by boat through mangrove creeks.
Only then does the trip cross to Havelock, for Radhanagar Beach and the reef at Elephant Beach — a real reward after two days of history and geology most Andaman trips skip entirely.
Once the seat of British administration in the islands, Ross Island is now overgrown ruins shared with resident deer — a genuinely atmospheric half-day, and one most shorter Andaman trips leave out.
Reached by boat through mangrove creeks, Baratang Island's mud volcanoes and limestone caves are a different kind of Andaman sight entirely, geology rather than beach.
By the time the itinerary reaches Havelock's Radhanagar Beach, you have already seen the islands' colonial and geological story — a fuller picture than a beach-only trip.

Chapter Three — Day by Day
4 of your 6days — the full itinerary follows below. Scroll to travel the route.
Day 2 · Port Blair
A short boat ride from Aberdeen Jetty crosses to Ross Island, renamed Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep in 2018. It served as the British administrative headquarters for the Andamans from the 1850s onward. A 1941 earthquake struck the island hard. The Japanese occupation followed soon after, ending that era for good. Old ballrooms, churches, and bungalows still stand here. Banyan roots now wrap through their walls and columns, slowly reclaiming the ruins. Wild deer roam freely across the island's grassy stretches. It's a quiet, atmospheric contrast to Cellular Jail's darker history. The boat returns to Port Blair by early afternoon.

Day 3 · Port Blair
A full-day trip north to Baratang Island, reached by road through the Jarawa Tribal Reserve in an escorted convoy. Photo ID is mandatory at the checkpoint. Photography inside the reserve itself is strictly forbidden. Beyond the reserve, a short boat ride winds through mangrove creeks to Baratang's limestone caves, shaped over centuries by mineral deposits. Nearby sit India's only active mud volcanoes, low mounds that occasionally bubble and hiss. It's a raw, less-visited side of the islands. The convoy returns to Port Blair by evening.

Day 4 · Port Blair → Havelock Island
A private ferry crossing to Havelock Island, officially renamed Swaraj Dweep. The trip takes around ninety minutes across open water. Most visitors still use the old name. Check in by early afternoon. The rest of the day is free to settle into the island's slower pace before tomorrow's beach and reef days.

Day 5 · Havelock Island
A full day at Radhanagar Beach, on Havelock's western shore. Time magazine named it Asia's best beach in 2004, and it has kept its Blue Flag certification for cleanliness and safety since. The sand runs pale and fine, backed by dense island forest that stays green right down to the shoreline. Late afternoon is the best time to be here, as the light turns gold before sunset over the water.
Chapter Four — The Full Itinerary
Every day, start to finish — including the transfers the day-by-day chapter above skipped.

Port Blair
Private airport pickup on arrival in Port Blair, the Andaman Islands' capital. The afternoon centres on Cellular Jail. It was built between 1896 and 1906 to hold India's freedom fighters in solitary cells. It's known as Kala Pani, or black water. Today it stands as a national memorial. Evening brings the jail's Light and Sound show, telling that history after dark. Then it's off to your hotel for the night.

A boat ride to Elephant Beach, reachable only by water — there's no road in. The reef just offshore is one of the healthiest in the Andamans, with clear, shallow water that suits first-time snorkellers as well as certified divers. Boat operators provide snorkeling gear as part of the trip. The afternoon is left free for the beach itself, generally quieter than Radhanagar.

Yes, if you want to see a side of the Andamans beyond beaches — mud volcanoes and limestone caves are unlike anything else on the standard circuit.
Cellular Jail and Ross Island together give a real sense of the islands' colonial and independence-era history, more than a standard beach-led trip.
