About This Journey
Six nights built for movement, not rest. After Port Blair's Cellular Jail and its evening Light and Sound Show, you cross to Havelock for a full scuba diving day at the islands' main dive hub, followed by a day of sea walking and game fishing — two very different ways to be on the water.
Elephant Beach's reef adds a snorkelling day before the trip crosses to Neil Island, where the pace finally drops for the Natural Bridge and Bharatpur Beach. This is the itinerary for a traveller who wants the Andamans' water sports in full, not a single dive squeezed between beach afternoons.
Havelock has the widest range of dive centres in the islands, with sites suited to first-time discover-scuba divers and certified divers alike.
A sea walk needs no swimming ability — you walk the seabed in a weighted helmet, breathing normally. Game fishing the same day gives a genuinely different pace on the water.
Close-in, shallow coral makes Elephant Beach a good lighter day between the more active water sports, or a first look before the scuba day.
After three active water days, the Natural Bridge and calm Bharatpur Beach on Neil Island give the trip a deliberately quieter close.

Day 2 · Port Blair → Havelock Island
A private ferry crossing to Havelock Island, officially renamed Swaraj Dweep. The trip takes around ninety minutes across open water. Most visitors still use the old name. Check in by early afternoon. The rest of the day is free to settle into the island's slower pace before tomorrow's beach and reef days.
Day 3 · Havelock Island
Havelock Island is the Andamans' main PADI diving hub, and this day is built around it. Dive sites here include Nemo Reef, Tribe Gate, The Wall, and Dixon Pinnacle, each with its own reef structure and marine life. A private dive operator handles equipment and briefing, with options for certified divers and first-timers doing an introductory dive. Two dives is the typical day, with a surface break between them. Non-divers can snorkel the same waters from the boat instead.
Day 4 · Havelock Island
A morning helmet sea-walk on the house reef — a weighted helmet fed with air from the surface, so no diving skill is needed to walk the seabed among the fish. The afternoon is a chartered boat past the reef line for trevally, tuna and barracuda, run catch-and-release for anything billed. Both are weather-dependent and move to the calmest window of the day. It is the most active day on the route.
Day 5 · Havelock Island
A boat ride to Elephant Beach, reachable only by water — there's no road in. The reef just offshore is one of the healthiest in the Andamans, with clear, shallow water that suits first-time snorkellers as well as certified divers. Boat operators provide snorkeling gear as part of the trip. The afternoon is left free for the beach itself, generally quieter than Radhanagar.
Day 6 · Havelock Island → Neil Island
A short ferry hop south to Neil Island, renamed Shaheed Dweep in 2018 in honour of India's freedom fighters, taking about an hour. It's the smallest and quietest of the three main islands on this route. Check in by midday, leaving the afternoon free to reach Laxmanpur Beach in time for sunset.

Port Blair
Private airport pickup on arrival in Port Blair, the Andaman Islands' capital. The afternoon centres on Cellular Jail. It was built between 1896 and 1906 to hold India's freedom fighters in solitary cells. It's known as Kala Pani, or black water. Today it stands as a national memorial. Evening brings the jail's Light and Sound show, telling that history after dark. Then it's off to your hotel for the night.

Neil Island
Morning at the Natural Bridge, a limestone rock arch carved by the sea, also known locally as Howrah Bridge. It's best seen at low tide, when the surrounding rock pools are exposed. Bharatpur Beach fills the rest of the day — shallow, calm water that makes it one of the easiest beaches on the islands for swimming. Neil Island has no real nightlife, which is exactly the point after the busier stops earlier in the trip.
