About This Journey
Five nights built around one stay in particular: Barefoot at Havelock, an eco-resort of thatch and reclaimed wood set in forest a short walk from Radhanagar Beach. After a first night in Port Blair and the Cellular Jail's Light and Sound Show, you cross to Havelock for two full days — Radhanagar's sunset, then a free day at Kala Pathar or simply at the resort.
The trip closes on Neil Island, at the Natural Bridge and a sunset at Laxmanpur, before you return home. Nothing about Barefoot is polished in the conventional resort sense, and that is the point. It is quiet, low-lit and close to the forest, built for a couple who want the island itself, not a lobby.
Built from local, natural materials, Barefoot at Havelock sits back from the beach in tree cover, a short walk to Radhanagar's sand rather than facing it directly.
One full day on Havelock is left unscheduled. Spend it at Kala Pathar's quieter, east-facing beach, or stay at the resort — the choice is yours, not the itinerary's.
The trip closes with Neil Island's Natural Bridge by day and a Laxmanpur Beach sunset in the evening, a quieter final frame than Havelock's busier stretches.

Day 2 · Port Blair → Havelock Island
A private ferry crossing to Havelock Island, officially renamed Swaraj Dweep. The trip takes around ninety minutes across open water. Most visitors still use the old name. Check in by early afternoon. The rest of the day is free to settle into the island's slower pace before tomorrow's beach and reef days.
Day 3 · Havelock Island
A full day at Radhanagar Beach, on Havelock's western shore. Time magazine named it Asia's best beach in 2004, and it has kept its Blue Flag certification for cleanliness and safety since. The sand runs pale and fine, backed by dense island forest that stays green right down to the shoreline. Late afternoon is the best time to be here, as the light turns gold before sunset over the water.
Day 4 · Havelock Island
An early start for Kala Pathar, Havelock's eastern beach, to catch the sunrise before the day heats up. The black rocks it is named for sit at the northern end. It is far quieter than Radhanagar. The rest of the day is unstructured — the resort, a spa treatment, or a return to Radhanagar for the afternoon light. This is the day the trip slows down.
Day 5 · Havelock Island → Neil Island
A short ferry hop south to Neil Island, renamed Shaheed Dweep in 2018 in honour of India's freedom fighters, taking about an hour. It's the smallest and quietest of the three main islands on this route. Check in by midday, leaving the afternoon free to reach Laxmanpur Beach in time for sunset.

Port Blair
Private airport pickup on arrival in Port Blair, the Andaman Islands' capital. The afternoon centres on Cellular Jail. It was built between 1896 and 1906 to hold India's freedom fighters in solitary cells. It's known as Kala Pani, or black water. Today it stands as a national memorial. Evening brings the jail's Light and Sound show, telling that history after dark. Then it's off to your hotel for the night.

Neil Island
The Natural Bridge is a coral-rock arch on Neil's western shore, reachable on foot only at low tide, so the day is planned around the tide table. The rock pools around it hold starfish, crabs and small octopus. Laxmanpur Beach, a long curve of pale sand nearby, is where the island watches the sun go down. The pace here is deliberately slow. Neil is the quietest of the three islands and this day leans into that.
