Rajasthan tour cost per person 2026-27: how trip length, hotel type, group size, car and activities move the price, with confirmed fort and safari fees.

Rajasthan tour cost per person 2026-27 swings more than almost any other Indian trip, and the reason is simple. You can sleep in a modest haveli or in a lake palace, drive for six hours or fly, and share a car with three people or travel alone. Each choice moves the per-person price. This guide shows which choices matter most, and gives the fort and safari fees we could confirm.

We do not publish package prices in the Journal. What we can give you is the model: how the price is built, how it changes with trip length and group size, and what to ask before you compare quotes. For a family version of the same sums, see our Rajasthan family trip cost for 4.

Rajasthan tour cost per person by trip length

Length changes the price in two ways. More nights add stays, and more cities add driving. A four-day trip with one city is very different from a ten-day circuit.

Trip length

Typical route

What grows

4 days

One or two cities

Stays only

6 days

Jaipur, Jodhpur or Udaipur plus one more

Stays and one long drive

8 days

10 days

Stays and three long drives

The jump from eight to ten days is large, because Jaisalmer sits far from the other cities. See our Rajasthan in 10 days route for the legs. If you are unsure how long you need, read how to order your first Rajasthan trip.

Rajasthan hotel cost per person: heritage, palace or business

Hotel type is the biggest lever. We will not quote nightly rates, because there is no fair figure, but the categories behave predictably.

Business hotels

They are practical, central and the cheapest. They lack character but suit short stays.

Heritage havelis

Small, characterful and often central. Rooms vary widely. Many have steps and no lift.

Palace hotels

The most expensive, and for many travellers the reason to come. Our palace stay guide explains what you are paying for. A common compromise is one palace night in Udaipur or Jaipur and heritage or business hotels elsewhere. See Rambagh Palace for an example of the top end in Jaipur.

Use this formula to compare:

Stay cost per person = (nightly room rate × nights) ÷ guests sharing the room

Vehicle, guide and booking charges may differ, so ask your operator what is included. The tiger is never guaranteed.

Check on the day

On an eight-day route, a traveller who visits the Jaipur sites on the composite ticket, Mehrangarh and the City Palace pays roughly ₹700 to ₹900 in entry fees as an Indian visitor, or about ₹2,200 to ₹2,300 as a foreign visitor. Everything else comes from your quotes.

Three ways to lower the price without losing Rajasthan

  1. Cut one city, not one night everywhere. Dropping a stop removes a long drive and a hotel change. Jaipur and Udaipur alone make a strong short trip.

  2. Spend on one palace night. A single night in a palace gives the experience at a fraction of a full palace itinerary. Use heritage hotels for the rest.

  3. Travel in a shoulder month. Early October and March give good weather with lower rates than December and January. Our best time guide explains each month.

Do not cut the vehicle quality or the driver. Rajasthan's highways are fast but long, and an experienced driver matters.

When to book

Peak months fill early, especially palace hotels and Ranthambore safaris. Book hotels and safaris well ahead for December and January. For shoulder months, a few weeks is often enough. Send us your dates and we will tell you which stays are likely to sell out first.

Why Rajasthan quotes differ so much

  • Hotel type. A palace and a business hotel are different products.

  • Route. Two quotes may visit different cities.

  • Vehicle. Size, air conditioning, and whether the return drive is charged.

  • Inclusions. Fees, guides, safari and meals.

  • Season. Compare the same dates.

Our advice

Choose the route before the hotels. Fix the number of cities, because each one adds a long drive. Then choose where to splurge: one palace night often gives more than five average ones. Share a car if you can. Skip Jaisalmer on a first trip unless you have ten days. Use the Jaipur composite ticket. Ask every operator what is not included, and compare in writing. We plan Rajasthan around the drives and the season, not around the brochure.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Rajasthan tour cost per person in 2026-27?

There is no single figure. The total depends on hotels, nights, group size and vehicle. A couple on an eight-day trip pays very differently from a solo traveller or a group of four. Use the lines above to build your own.

How much does a Rajasthan tour cost for a couple?

Add half the stay and car costs to your fees and activities. A palace night costs far more than a haveli night. Get written quotes by group size.

How much are fort tickets in Rajasthan?

Amber is ₹100 for Indians and ₹500 for foreigners. Mehrangarh is ₹100 and ₹600. The City Palace in Udaipur is roughly ₹300 to ₹400 and ₹600 to ₹700. Confirm at the gate.

Is the Jaipur composite ticket worth it?

Yes, if you visit three or more of its sites. It is ₹300 to ₹400 for Indians and ₹1,000 for foreigners, valid for about two days.

Which month is cheapest for Rajasthan?

April to June and the monsoon cost less. They are also hot or wet. Shoulder months like early October and March balance price and weather.

Does the price include a Ranthambore safari?

Usually not. It is an optional extra priced per person. Ask what the quote covers.
