Vagator, Goa, is North Goa at its most photogenic. Red laterite cliffs drop to small, dramatic beaches. Ozran and Little Vagator sit either side of the rocks. The sea below is deep blue against the red stone. Above it all stands Chapora Fort. The Portuguese rebuilt it in 1617. The climb rewards you with a wide view of the coast and the Chapora River. Go at first light, when the hill is cool and quiet. The area also holds Anjuna and Arpora. Anjuna's flea market runs on Wednesdays. Arpora's Saturday Night Market is seasonal and returns in the dry months. Confirm the dates before you plan an evening around it. Both are lively, and both reward an early arrival. Vagator is where Goa turns social after dark. Cliff-top cafes and beach venues fill at sunset. We book the right table, the right hour and a quiet way home. Nightlife here is a craft, and we treat it as one.
