But they also punish over-ambitious planning, because ferries, tides and weather set the pace, not your wish list. This guide shows how to build a honeymoon that flows.
What makes the Andamans work for couples
The Andaman Islands sit far out in the Bay of Bengal, closer to Myanmar than to mainland India. Most islands are covered in forest, and the beaches are wide and quiet. Coral reefs sit just off the shore, so you can snorkel from the beach on some islands.
The trade-off is logistics. There are no bridges between the main islands, so travel is by ferry or a short flight. That is why the shape of your trip matters more than the number of things on it.
How many nights?
Six nights is the minimum for a honeymoon that doesn't feel like a rush. Seven or eight is better. Here is a sensible split:

When to go

Practical notes for couples
Ferry timings: they can shift with weather and tide. Keep a buffer day before any flight home.
Connectivity: mobile signal and internet can be patchy. A digital break is part of the charm.
Sun and water: bring reef-safe sunscreen, a rash vest and a light cover-up.
Cash: some smaller places prefer it, and ATMs are scarce outside Port Blair.
Flights: you will usually fly into Port Blair. Book internal transfers with a flexible plan.
A sample seven-night rhythm
Nights one and two are in Port Blair. Land, rest, and use the second day for a gentle look at the island's history. The evening should be quiet, with an early night before the ferry.
Nights three to six are on Havelock. The first morning is for doing nothing, and that is deliberate. On day two, take a morning snorkel and spend the afternoon by the pool. Day three is Radhanagar at golden hour, followed by a private dinner. Day four is flexible: a spa, a kayak through mangroves or a first dive.
Night seven returns you to Port Blair for the flight, with a buffer against any ferry delay. Keeping that final night on the main island is one of the cheapest forms of insurance in the Andamans.
Touches worth arranging in advance
The details that make a honeymoon feel personal are rarely on a standard menu. Ask your designer to arrange:
A room with a private plunge pool or a direct beach path, where the resort offers one
A sunrise breakfast on the sand, before the day boats arrive
A sunset boat ride timed with the tides

None of these needs much money. They need advance notice, because the islands are small and staff are few.
Where to spend, where to save
Spend on the room and its setting. You will spend more waking hours at the resort than at any sight, and a good room in a quiet location is worth a premium.
Save on tours you can do independently in the resort's own waters. Beach snorkelling in front of the property costs nothing extra. Keep private boats for the outings that count, such as a reef morning or a sunset cruise.
